The Objectives of the CSMB

The Center's long-range objectives are to assist in maintaining the United States' position of leadership in the specialty of multiple birth. To accomplish this, the CSMB:

  • Distributes information on reducing the medical risks and social costs of multiple birth as well as the special problems encountered by the parents and their children.

  • Sponsors scientific conferences on the care of twin children and higher-order multiples.

  • Encourages funding for medical and social research relating to multiple birth.

  • Conducts its own research and scholarship.
